Evolute x Muslim Ski Club: Empowering the Modest Community Through Sport

On the 16th of January, Evolute was proud to be featured on BBC News as part of a powerful and inspiring collaboration with the Muslim Ski Club at the Chill Factore in Manchester. This moment marked a significant milestone not only for Evolute as a modest sportswear brand, but for the wider modest community that continues to challenge barriers, redefine representation, and make space for inclusivity within sport.

At Evolute, our mission has always gone beyond clothing. We exist to empower women to move, perform and feel confident while upholding their values of modesty. Being recognised by the BBC for the work we are doing within the modest activewear space reaffirmed why community-led initiatives and representation matter more than ever.

Breaking Barriers in Sport Through Modest Activewear

Winter sports such as skiing have historically felt inaccessible to many women within the modest community. From limited access to appropriate modest sportswear, to a lack of representation and culturally aware spaces, these barriers have often discouraged participation altogether. Our collaboration with the Muslim Ski Club set out to change that narrative.

By providing functional, high-performance modest activewear designed specifically with modesty in mind, Evolute supported women who wanted to experience skiing without compromising on comfort, coverage or confidence. The Chill Factore in Manchester became a space of empowerment, joy and visibility — where modesty and sport existed together seamlessly.

The BBC interview highlighted how modest sportswear plays a vital role in enabling participation. Clothing is not a minor detail; it is often the gateway or the barrier to entry. When women feel seen, considered and catered for, sport becomes accessible rather than intimidating.

The Power of Modest Community and Collaboration

What made this collaboration truly special was the sense of community. The Muslim Ski Club has built an incredible platform that encourages Muslim women to try skiing in a supportive, inclusive and judgment-free environment. Partnering with them felt natural, as our values strongly align — community first, empowerment always.

The modest community thrives when brands, organisations and individuals work together. This event wasn’t just about skiing; it was about representation, visibility and creating safe spaces. Seeing women take to the slopes in modest sportswear, laughing, learning and supporting one another was a reminder of why community-led initiatives are so impactful.

Our women’s-only environments, much like our own Evolute run club, are designed to remove fear and self-consciousness. They allow women to show up exactly as they are. The BBC feature amplified this message to a national audience, proving that modest activewear and inclusive sports spaces are not niche — they are necessary.

Modesty Is Not a Limitation

One of the strongest messages to come out of the BBC interview was that modesty should never be viewed as a limitation. Modest sportswear does not restrict performance; when designed correctly, it enhances it. At Evolute, every piece of modest activewear is created with movement, breathability and durability in mind — without sacrificing coverage or values.

The women who attended the skiing session demonstrated that modesty and athleticism go hand in hand. Whether on the track, in the gym, or on the slopes, modest women belong in every sporting space.

Looking Ahead

Being featured on BBC News on the 16th of January was a proud and humbling moment for Evolute. It reinforced our purpose as a modest sportswear brand committed to serving the modest community through thoughtful design and meaningful collaboration.

We hope this is just the beginning. As more women step into sports like skiing, running and fitness wearing modest activewear that truly supports them, the industry will continue to evolve — just like us.

To our community, collaborators and every woman who dares to try something new while staying true to her values: this is for you. Modesty is powerful. Community is everything. And sport is for everyone.
